PRE-INSTALLATION

Before installing your Amaya’s Premium Hair extensions please examine them carefully. We recommend that you do not cut the tie on the bundle until you have inspected each bundle.  We stand behind the quality of our hair, as we inspect each bundle to ensure that it is without defect, and that it is healthy beautiful hair. If you receive a bundle that you consider to be less than perfect please contact us immediately so we can discuss & resolve your concern.

INSTALLATION TIPS

When doing a full sew-in with our machine wefted virgin hair,  we recommend folding the wefts rather than cutting individual tracks. This maintains the integrity of the extension, prevents shedding, and makes reinstallation easier. When installing wefted extensions with a needle, it is recommended that you sew around the weft rather than through. Putting a needle through the weft will weaken the structure and cause shedding.

PRODUCTS

Amaya’s Premium hair does not need a lot of products, Use any styling products sparingly to maintain natural body and movement.  Apply products while the hair is damp so they are not overly concentrated.

Avoid alcohol-based styling products, since alcohol can make the hair dry and cause tangling.  To prevent excessive dryness, use light weight moisture serums like Argan oil, and Chi silk infusion Serum.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE

Shampoo and condition with A lightweight moisturizing/or and sulfate free shampoo and conditioner every 7 to 14 days as needed. Tip- If hair seems dirty or has oil build up then wash & condition, or co-wash your hair extensions. Oily or dirty hair can tangle and could lead to breakage. It’s critical that the hair extensions be properly shampooed and conditioned regularly to help them maintain their beauty and durability. Hair extensions should not be handled rigorously and should always be shampooed in a downward motion.  Keep styling products to a minimum to prevent weighing down the hair.

Color Treatment

With the exception of our colored clip-in, tape extensions, and our Flip-in extensions.  Amaya’s Premium hair is 100% virgin hair; therefore it can be dyed, bleached. We strongly recommend that all chemical alterations be done professionally. We do not advise that you color our colored clip-in & Tape extensions. They have already undergone an innovative 1 to 2 day coloring process; additional coloring could compromise the integrity of the hair.  Prior to any chemical alterations, a strand test should be performed. Be aware that performing these services can change the texture and/or pattern of the hair.  Please Note that relaxing, perming, coloring, lifting or otherwise processing Amaya’s Premium hair voids ALL EXCHANGE AND REPLACEMENT guarantees. After color processing we strongly recommend deep conditioning your extensions with a Moisturizing deep conditioner such a silicon mix. this will ensure that you replace the moisture that was removed during the coloring process. We suggest that you repeat this step or leave the hair in conditioner until the desired softness has returned to hair. 

Re-installation- Preparing your hair for re-use

Amaya’s Premium Hair can be used instal after instal as the natural integrity of the hair has been preserved during construction. Properly preparing your extensions for re-use is critical to the style and look of your extensions as you reuse them . 

• Remove your machine wefted hair extension by cutting the thread from around the weft. Set to the side in a pile or place in a plastic bag while you are removing the remainder of your extensions. Please note we never recommend gluing machine wefted hair extensions in as the glue can compromise the integrity of the weft , causing the extension to shed after they after removed.
• Once all the extensions are removed, go through each bundle or section of hair and remove the excess thread remaining. Cut any knotted thread with scissors carefully ensuring that you do not cut your hair extensions.
• Holding at the weft,  gather each bundle 1 at a time and gently comb out or detangle the extensions. If you have difficulty holding the hair by the weft, roll it up into bundle and use a hair rubber band or tie to keep each bundle together. 
• Once detangled, wet each bundle with warm or cold water, (never use hot water on hair extensions it can dry them out). Rinse hair thoroughly allowing the water to run through the weft to the tip of the hair in a downward motion removing any excess oil or dirt. 
• Co-wash the extensions: use your choice of conditioner and gently distribute the conditioner throughout each bundle.. applying the conditioner in a downward motion, ensure that each bundle has ample conditioner. If the bundles are really dirty , rinse & repeat this step until you feel they are clean. Allow the conditioner to set on your hair extensions for 20 minutes to an hour or overnight to deep condition & revive your extensions.
• Rinse thoroughly and air dry once done. 

SWIMMING

It is not recommended that you swim with extension hair, as chlorine and salt water is damaging to the hair. However if you do the following precautions are recommended:

•  Comb or brush through hair.
•  Apply a leave-in conditioner to hair to act as a protective layer;
•  Braiding hair may help to prevent tangling.
•  Afterwards thoroughly shampoo and condition hair.
• If the hair feels dry condition hair again until it is soft. 

EXTREME WEATHER CONDITIONS

COLD AND DRY:

•Cold and extremely dry weather conditions can cause hair to appear brittle.

• If these conditions exist moisturize hair more frequently. We recommend daily use of a lightweight moisturizing serum like Argan oil, or Chi silk infusion serum.

• Please note: Exposure to the sun may cause a slight change in color in both natural and chemically colored hair.

HEAT AND HUMIDITY

•Hair tends to swell when exposed to extreme heat and humidity especially heavily textured hair such as those with a curl or wave pattern.

•Use a small amount of product to control and define the texture.

•It may be necessary to deep condition more frequently.

NIGHT ROUTINE

In order to preserve style, hair should be wrapped, braided, twisted, rolled or pin curled according to the texture to prevent tangling.  Never sleep on loose, wet hair.  Cotton pillowcases can dry out the hair. We recommend sleeping wearing a satin scarf or bonnet. If you have trouble sleeping with a scarf or bonnet on your head use a silk pillowcase. Your hair extensions will thank you! You will notice they are softer & more manageable if you stick with the proper night routine.
